Live music in Bridport is vibrant with great variety of styles performed in music venues that range from the pub to the Electric Palace and Bridport Arts Centre. For the most part, music in a pub is generally free (thank you landlords!) with the occasional big name band needing a door fee of up to about £12.
THE ROPEMAKERS (01308 421255) in Bridport has live music on Fridays, Saturdays and often a jam session on a Sunday afternoon. The musical styles played are quite broad varying from folk to jazz as well as the usual rock format.
No. 10 CAFE BAR(01308 420032) in Bridport has live music on Tuesdays and Thurdays music throughout the month and DJ nights on Fridays and Saturday. It is a small venue so big band don't fit so well but they still manage to run a very full schedule each month
THE CROWN INN (01308 422037) on West Bay Road in Bridport (just outside the town centre) has live music, normally on a Saturday night but just occasionaly on a Friday or Sunday as well. Simon and Shelley run the pub and in this venue, rock music always goes down well but Elvis tributes, Punk and Folk get their opportunities too.
THE HOPE & ANCHOR (01308 422160) on St Michaels Lane in Bridport has Saturday night live music for you normally in the rock and blues style. They also host a Sunday jam session around 4pm.
ELECTRIC PALACE (01308 426336) on South Street in Bridport has one or two live music nights each month in addition to showing films. The style of music performed is varied, you are just as likely to hear African Tribal style sounds as English choral music. They also host the occasional travelling main stream act.
THE KINGS ARMS (01308 459486) on North Allington Road has occasional live music and entertaiment as well as a huge beer garden.
BRIDPORT ARTS CENTRE on South Streethosts a wide variety of of both performance and visual arts based events. The historic venue has a 200-seat theatre, three exhibition spaces plus a café and bar.
THE BEACH & BARNICOTT(01308 455688)is on South Street almost directly opposite the Arts Centre. It's not a pub; more a haven for food and wine with the occasional live music to round things off.
THE WOODMAN INN (01308 456455) is further along South Street. It's a booze and food pub and there's nothing wrong with that. Just now and again Stompin' Dave and other live performers make it through the doors to liven up an evening.
