Live Music Gig Venues In Sherborne

It's fair to say that even though Sherborne is only 5 miles from Yeovil it has a completely different feel. Perhaps because it's smaller, perhaps because of the Abbey and its associated history or something else but Yeovil and Sherborne are like chalk and cheese.

There are a few music venues for rock and similar music, mostly it's the pubs making the running although Clubs sometimes have live music too.

A great variety of non-rock music events too

Sherborne Abbey hosts live music performances throughout the year with both choral and classical recitals. The Abbey Festival happens each year and is famous for its program of events based around the liturgy and its music. In 2010 the event will celebrate its 10th year. For more information click here.

THE NEW MERMAID INN (01935 817065) is on Bristol Road in Sherborne and has a mix of pub rock bands and solo performers. It may well be the busiest music venue in Sherborne.
PLUME OF FEATHERS (01935 816569) on Half Moon Street in Sherborne has always been a regular stopping off point for local bands. It is also the home for Sherborne Jazz. Somehow we managed to upset the Landlady a year or so back and so they asked us not to list their events. I know, it's a bit odd but that's what they wanted.		Awaiting Picture
