THE SWAN THEATRE Yeovil based theatre run by enthusiasts in a very professional manner. As well as hosting their own events the theatre is also used by touring companies from time to time.
THE OCTAGON THEATRE South Somerset's biggest and probably busiest theatre is in Yeovil and completed an extensive refurbishment in 2008.
WELLINGTON ARTS ASSOCIATION host their own amateur events as well as professional theatre and concerts. They have a 100-seat venue with comfortable seating, and a well equipped stage, as well as a fully licensed bar in a recently modernised and extended part of the building.
BREWHOUSE THEATRE Taunton's biggest theatre venue.
THE WAREHOUSE THEATRE in Ilminster puts on both regular shows and functions as a performance venue for a variety of muscians on tour in the South West.
THE MARINE THEATRE in Lyme Regis plays host to a wide variety of musical performances and theatrical events each month. It's a lovely old building that enjoys the ongoing support of the TheatreFriends to keep the building maintained.

Visual & Performing Arts Venues

THE DAVID HALL ARTS CENTRE in South Petherton is run by Petherton Arts Trust, and is renowned for its range of top quality musical events. They also offer films, dance, drama and community activities. The building is an old church (which creates some maintenance problems) and the acoustics are some of the best to be found anywhere.
BRIDPORT ARTS CENTRE on South Street hosts a wide variety of of both performance and visual arts based events. The historic venue has a 200-seat theatre, three exhibition spaces plus a café and bar.
ILMINSTER ARTS CENTRE is based in the Meeting House, East Street in Ilminster. It hosts a wide variety of arts exhibitions, workshops and live musical performances throughout the year. They can be contacted by phone on 01460 55783.
DILLINGTON HOUSE (01460 258 648) Dillington House is Somerset County Council’s residential centre for professional development, adult education and the arts. Regular classical music recitals happen throughout the year. These take place in the Mews Theatre which seats up to 160.
