Live Music Gig Venues In Yeovil

Yeovil in Somerset has a great variety of music venues that range from the pub to the large social club. For the most part, you won't need a mortgage or loan to pay for this; music in a pub is generally free (thank you landlords!) with the occasional big name band needing a door fee of up to about £12.

Gigs in Yeovil are often free!

Live music in Yeovil's social clubs (Labour, Liberal etc.) is generally also free. Buy your beer and enjoy the music. Bands are not cheap to put on, even bands don't get paid much and entertainment is done as much for the love of it as the dosh. So please, if the landlord puts a few pence on the pint to help with gig costs or passes the hat around to help pay for the band, don't be grudging; we get fantastic entertainment for almost nothing.

THE LABOUR CLUB (01935 471138) in Yeovil have Saturday night entertainment throughout the month as well as a few extra events each month.
THE ORANGE BOX (08458 738 299) in Yeovil is quite possibly the town’s busiest live music venue. There are bands throughout the month with many coming from the USA as well as the UK and rest of Europe.
THE OLD BARN CLUB (01935 474764) in Yeovil has regular Saturday entertainment music each month that includes both bands and karaoke/disco nights. Tribute acts seem to go down well at the Barn.
THE QUICKSILVER MAIL (01935 424721) is on Hendford Hill in Yeovil and hosts musical entertainment in both the bar and the larger function room. Solo performers do well in the bar, rock acts have space to breathe in the function room.
THE LIBERAL CLUB (01935 423037) in Middle Street, Yeovil has live music, tea dances bingo and karaoke each month.
THE BEACH CAFE BAR (01935 414995) in Yeovil has more live music and comedy in its entertainment line up as well as the more regular DJ nights.
PALL TAVERN (01935 476521) on Silver Street in Yeovil has varied music on a Sunday afternoon at 4pm as well as karaoke and poker nights (each Thursday).
CHICAGO ROCK CAFÉ (01935 424500) in Yeovil has cut back on live music for now (May 2009). It used to feature tribute bands on a Friday night. Regular DJ nights are now the usual offering.
HARRY’S BAR (01935 432143) is on Stars Lane in Yeovil and they have mix of both live music and late night DJ sessions.
THE BLACK HORSE (01935 422259) on the Avenue in Yeovil normally has one or two live music acts each month from solo or duo performers.
THE CONSERVATIVE CLUB (01935 423815) on Kingston in Yeovil has Saturday night entertainment for you throughout the month. Although this is a members club there are frequent ‘open’ events when non-members can attend.
THE RAILWAY HOTEL (07787 876678) is at the bottom of Hendford Hill in Yeovil and has a variety of entertainment including live performers each month.		Awaiting Picture
YEOVIL EX-SERVICES & SOCIAL CLUB (01935 428884) is on Preston Road in Yeovil and it hosts regular Saturday and some Friday night entertainment each month. As well as the music, the club has bingo every Sunday and Wednesday evening, a prize draw every Saturday night and a meat draw that happens each Sunday lunch time.
THE ARROW (01935 476972) is in the centre of Abbey Manor Estate on the west side of Yeovil. It is a big pub that can carry a large band very well. Live music is occasional rather than regular at the weekends. The only thing to watch out for is that the pub gets very busy when Yeovil Town F.C. are playing at home!
FLEUR DE LYS (01935 423146) is on the corner of Mudford Road and the top end of St Michael's Avenue. As at June 2010 the pub is closed for refurbishment.
WESTLAND LEISURE COMPLEX (01935 848380) is a club as well as a large venue that is used for conferences, events and live performances. It has a capacity for up to 1100 delegates which makes it one of the larger venues in the South West.
THE WESTMINSTER (01935 479440) is, rather cunningly on Westminster Street in Yeovil. If you walk out of the big Tesco store towards the centre of town you'll find it on your left. Once or twice a month they have a gig with rock music on a Saturday night.
WOODS WINE BAR (01935 428129) is on Middle Street in Yeovil and is now back in the hands of the original owner Ben Wood. There is good mix of live Jazz, blues, rock and DJ nights to entertain you.

Live Music Venues in Villages Near Yeovil

Within a few miles of Yeovil there are several very nice villages some of which have pubs or village halls that are live music venues. If you would like your venue listed then please get in touch.

THE WHITE POST (01935 851218) at Rimpton just outside Yeovil is closed again. Very sad indeed.
THE HALF MOON (01935 824890) at Stoke-sub-Hamdon has regular Saturday night rock music throughout the month. The bands that play here have a strong rock and blues flavour.		Awaiting Picture
FLEUR-DE-LIS (01935 822510) on West Street in Stoke sub Hamdon Friday night live music in a variety of styles. The Fleur has a bit less of the heavier rock styles favoured by the Half Moon.
THE LAMB INN (01935 822518) in Tintinhull used to have live music but a change of ownership seems to have ended this. (June 2010)
THE CROWN & VICTORIA (01935 823341) The Crown & Victoria Inn is situated in the heart of Tintinhull, Somerset. The pub has a lovely rural setting amidst with a big garden. Music tends to be occasional and based around special events.
